- Thursday Aug 19th

Good morning sports freaks and gambling animals. Yesterday I decided to take a break and decide whether or not to retire or come back in full GURU form. Yes, I'm back in black in the 'Guru's Corner' as I too need a paycheck like most of you. However, I might decide to hold out for 16 million or so like the Vikes are rumored to be paying Brett. No problem, just give the guy 1,000,000 per game he's only 40-41 - never missed a game, pretty sick shit. You got to love this guy and I am really pulling for him to have a solid year and hopefully not get racked and break down mid-season!...... I got news for all you Sam Bradford pumpers, not if it happens but when it happnes, and remember who told you. When Sam Bradford gets rocked like they hit Eli Manning and Tim Tebow this past weekend he might not ever get up as he is not built Ford Tough, and to last in this league you better be or your in a world of trouble Sam! Doubt he makes the season, not happening....... Let's talk pennant races - The best record in baseball goes to the Tampa Bay Rays and NY Yankees who are currently deadheated atop the AL East at 74-46 apiece. These two teams will meet 7 times in 11 days in mid september to iron things out a bit........

- Tuesday Aug 17th

The Rays and the Yankees are knotted atop the AL East. Detroit is @ New York and although being 4-13 in their last 17 road games the Tigers tamed NY in the 1st of their 4 game set. Detroit have beaten NY 4 out of their last 5 attempts......
I totally enjoyed the maturity of David Price last night as he was fantastic vs. Texas and CLiff Lee. Tonight the Rays go with Matt Garza vs. the Rangers' Tommy Hunter in what should be another great match-up. Tampa Bay are 4-1 in their last 5 games vs. Texas at home and own a very impressive 17-5 stretch at home overall. Tommy Hunter for Texas does not lose games as his 9-1 record indicates so something has to give tonight!..... I threw down a couple too many beers last night and woke up with a headache but reminded myself of the hit Eli Manning took last night and threw down some OJ and shook it off. ..... Still waiting on Favre's answer like everybody else.

- Monday Aug 16th

Good morning and some motivation for you people struggling to getting out of bed to start your work week. Put yourself in Dustin Johnson's golf shoes for a minute and try to digest what the hell happened to him at the PGA. We can all just imagine his reaction if he sunk the putt on 18 to win the championship, only to have it then taken away from some old broken down beer slurping rules official. Dustin I feel for you as the bottom edge of your club rested for 1/10th of a second in the dirt of a so called sand trap, negating his play-off hopes. There is not 1 weekend golfer who would've not grounded his club period, bogus...... I then dialed in the Bronco-Cincy game in anticipation of watching Tim Tebow. Let me tell you all for those who missed it, the wait was worth it. Tebow is a true competitor who can also throw the football with some authority. He showed poise in the pocket and made a great throw only to be dropped by some moron receiver in the 3rd qtr. Then in the 4th qtr another receiver dropped what would have been a touchdown pass for Tebow as it was ruled a trap. But the real Tebow emerged on the last play of the game where he had to escape a rush and head for the end zone. Was there any doubt he was not going to get in, no there wasn't he is a load and has a ton of determination! I am giving Tebow an 'A' on his 1st performance - certainly the receivers he was throwing to are not starting any time soon. ....... On tap for tonight I like the match-up of Cliff Lee of the Rangers vs. the Tampa Bay Rays' David Price. .... The Rays are 16-5 last 21 at home.

- Sunday Aug 15th

My advice to everyone is to get your chores out of the way during the afternoon, as the PGA tourney consists of a bunch of no names fighting it out. There is no Tiger on the prowl nor Phil who are both trailing by double digits. As tribute to George Carlin's golf analogy "I would rather watch flies fuck than watch golf"... Now on to bigger and much better things... Tonight we have can't miss preseason football with Ocho and TO of the Bengals who definitely bring their 'A' games in the mouth department. On the other side of the spectrum for the Broncos we have a throwback type player who's heart is second to none in Tim Tebow. I will definitely be dialed in on this match-up with the surround sound kicked up a notch as this game has been highlighted on my calendar for some time. Watching Tebow's every move and rooting for him in his NFL debut surely excites me and reminds me of how I used to enjoy football in my younger years.
